I Can Park a Car!

I had to park my car overnight by the car repair shop. I tucked it into a corner, because I don't like parking in between cars. I've had my doors dinged by careless car-getter-inners before.

I actually backed up and went forward a couple of times to make sure my car was straight and settled in for the night.

It wasn't until I went back to retrieve my car the next morning that I saw my poor tire had been barely balanced on the curb all night long!

It's a good thing I'd bought my tires, with a guarantee, at that very establishment.

I didn't need to make a replace-a-tire claim, however, because I managed to drive away just fine.

Are you good at parking? Turning? Backing up? Parallel parking? What's your best driving ability?

Mugs with Sweaters

I like to wear a sweater when it's cold. (Usually two. And a coat.)

I've seen dog sweaters.

I've seen tea cozies.

But I've never seen mug sweaters before.

I think they're kind of cute. I wondered if they really kept drinks nice and toasty warm

When I grabbed the mugs to look closer, the sweaters slipped around a bit. Seemed like they'd be easy to drop.

And what about washing? Are they supposed to go in the kitchen sink, or the washing machine?

That's a puzzler.

Wild Snowman

We've had lots of snow fall on us lately. 

(Have you?) 

So when I happened upon this rustic snow humanoid in an out-of-the-way place, I had to wonder if people aren't the only ones who like to have fun in the snow.

Do you see any Sasquatchy elements in this snow figure? 

(Could it be that Bigfoot likes to play in the snow, too?)

Strange Thing to Wear To The Store

I saw a guy...I think it was a guy...walking into the store.

Did he think it was a movie theater? 

Was he reenacting a Star Wars character?

Was he playing an April Fool's joke on someone?

What would it take for you to go out in public like this?

Snakes Alive! (If you're scared of snakes, don't look!)

Maybe it's because we're daughters of a veterinarian,

but when Carolyn and I had a chance to hold some snakes, we did!

 They were pythons, which I'd hate to meet in the wild, but it was actually fun to hold them with the professional snake handler/owner standing two feet away. He told us to let the snake slide through our hands and keep picking up the body behind the head, rather than trying to hold onto it and make it stay still.

 I talked to a neighbor once who told me a horror story of finding a critter in her house. I thought she was going to say she found a mouse, but she said "snake," then looked at me with a horrified expression. 

I didn't return the look. I think snakes feel awesome when they shimmy through my hands.

Carolyn didn't seem to mind getting up close and personal with the snakes, either.

We like having adventures!

Motorcycle Mash-In

Why, yes, I found a parking space, thank you. My car is the candy blue Ford Focus pictured below. I had a lovely time parking, as parallel parking was my best subject in Driver's Ed. (Seriously! I'm GOOD at it!) My worst Driver's Ed. skill, you ask? Backing up. (I'm made to go FORWARD, baby!)

When I came back to my car two hours later, I saw an advantage to driving a motorcycle. Not even a Smart Car could fit in that space!

Eating in the Car

My husband doesn't like to eat in the car. He's concerned about being distracted for even a second while traveling at high rates of speed. 

I must concede that he has a valid point. All I can do is wonder how he ever gets everything DONE? 

(Oh...organization? What's that?)

One time while riding with my sister, I pulled out a bell pepper and took a bite like it was an apple.  Startled, she asked, "You don't cut those up?"

"No," I replied, "takes too much time. It's easier just to bite into it."

"Wow," she said. "I always bought those little peppers in the bag to eat in the car, because I didn't have time to cut up a big one."

"Well," I said, "now you don't have to." I held the pepper out to her. "You wanna bite?"

She tried it...she liked it!

When my littlest sis Carolyn saw me biting a pepper in the car, she thought it was so funny that she took a picture.
