St. George Opoly

When I was a kid, I learned how to play Monopoly, but I was never a big fan of it. It was rather stressful trying to decide if I should buy a property, and I always felt badly when someone landed on my property and I was supposed to make them pay me money for it.
Since it was such a dreary game, I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw that it had a version made for a TOWN. How many separate towns was it made for? Who would buy it?
Would you?

Attack of the Giant Spider!

I was startled to find a giant spider ready to jump on my car as I entered the roundabout in St. George's Main Street/Tabernacle Street intersection!
I don't know who made it or what it commemorates, but there it is.
I don't hate spiders. My husband, Bob, is wary of them. He was bitten on the elbow by a black widow about 30 years ago. Not only did his elbow swell up to the size of a tomato, but half his face was paralyzed by Bell's Palsy. The doctor said it may be permanent, or it may gradually heal.
With half his mouth paralyzed, Bob couldn't whistle, and he dribbled when he drank. His smile was a crazy sight to see, and he even kissed crooked.
We were both relieved when he regained full feeling in his face after about six months.
Are you a spider hater?
A spider lover?
Or you'll live your life, and they'll live theirs?

Lost in the World Wildlife Museum in St. George

We had fun at the World Wildlife Museum in St. George.
There are lots of stuffed animals from a lot of places around the planet.
(Which planet? Well, maybe you'll have to go see for yourself!)
What do you do when you see a polar bear looking over your shoulder?
 You might scream.
Or you might show it who's boss, like my little sister Carolyn did.
They offer cool little electronic wands that let you type in the number on the display and listen to the description at your own pace.
Even if the camel on the second floor wants to listen in, he can't. He has to get his own wand.
It's not so much what you see, but what you think of it.
In my world, making friends with a bear is better than being eaten by one.
Just sayin'.
Do you like the outdoors?
Do you like wildlife?

Parade of Homes... and Bugs!

The Parade of Homes had some beautiful fixtures in their houses... wait, what's that? Did someone miss cleaning the sink?
Ahhh! It's a SPIDER!
But it's not scrambling up the slippery sink sides in a vain attempt to escape the deadly faucet waterfall sure to swirl it down the drain at any moment!

Oh. It's rubber. Fancy that. New, improved rubber arachnids for home decor that won't really spin webs in your pantry or bite you in your sleep.
How innovative!
My sister, Carolyn (Purple Girl) and I both liked the Be Happy sign, because we were happy to be together doing fun things on a rainy day in "sunny" St. George, Utah!
Do you like to look at new homes? Or are you perfectly satisfied just looking at the walls of your own home? (Or cave...)
