Write Here in Ephraim 2016!

With Snow College Continuing Education as a partner, the 6th Annual "Write Here in Ephraim" conference had much cooler signage! (When doing it on my own,  I hand lettered poster paper.)
I ALSO LOVE THE LOGO, designed by my son, Professor Andrew Bahlmann.
My friend, Justin Osmond, gave an amazingly humorous and inspirational speech at our Saturday Meet and Greet. (Can you read my shirt? Are you going to do what it says? Yeah, look at the shirt, not my feet, which forgot to get into model's pose for this shot.)

Prolific author Dean Hughes gave an inspiring speech in the middle of our workshops on Saturday, and he also gave everyone at the conference some of his books for free!
(Woo Hoo! Everyone got a door prize!)
Here I am with Cheree Alsop, who writes a book every 2 1/2 months!
Christopher Loke came from Jolly Fish Press to inspire writers at the conference.
Here is Spur (a highfalutin' Western author writing prize) winner Rod Miller
I wanted to get pictures with all the amazing authors who came and shared their professional information with up-and-coming writers, but I missed getting photos with them. So here's a shout-out and hugs to Tristi Pinkston, Rebecca Blevins, Karlene Browning, Jenni James, Steve Clark, C. David Belt, Kate Palmer, Loralee Evans, Kathryn and Douglas Jones, Rebecca Scott, Sabine Berlin, Heidi Brockbank, Meg Jensen, Ellen Walker, James Duckett, and Angie Lofthouse. Then the student helpers Lindsey and Sarah were so pleasant. (I better not have missed anyone! They are all so incredibly important to me, and I love and appreciate their talents and good hearts.) We got amazing feedback from our attendees, who loved the conference overall. The only complaints were not having classes repeated, and starting too early and running too late. (But how else could we fit so much goodness into a couple of days?)
Who do you love and appreciate?

Gasoline Flavored Pizza?

Someone had to think really hard to put this cardboard slice of a pizza on a gas hose.
On one hand, it could be a brilliant marketing strategy, because if most people who stop to gas up their cars are like me, they're also making a dash inside the gas station to find a restroom. Then they smell the pizza, and remember the cardboard one outside, and if they're really, really hungry, maybe don't associate the word "cardboard" with what's offered beneath the heat lamp in the store.
On the other hand, if a potential pizza customer is out pumping gas and sees the "pizza" slice while smelling gas fumes, is he or she going to associate that with a pizza flavor? "Gas flavored pizza, get yours here!"
I'm curious... do you think they sell more pizza with a cardboard sign on the pump hose, or do you think they sell less? (Would you buy a slice?)

Avocado Fork Tine Dip!

I got a recipe for fresh and delicious avocado dip!
I stirred it nice and creamy with a green fork. When I pulled the fork out, I noticed something amiss.
A tine.
My four-tined fork only had three tines!
How do you find a green plastic fork tine in a bowl of green avocado dip?!
Ooo, yum, crunch!
Got it.
(Do you like avocados? What's your best way to eat them...or avoid them?)

Writers, Cousins, and Friends

I don't know if I ever blogged about last fall and the time I spent in Kanab... if I already did, it's worth another mention, because I got to hang out with my cousin, Guy Rallison, and his ever-talented writer wife and my friend, Janette (center).

I also got to stay in author Liz Adair's (center, below) comfortable, cozy bunkhouse.

It's so fun to do authory things.
What kind of things do you like to do?
